Excel and Thinkorswim

I made a quick video showing how you can use MS Excel on Windows to pull live data from Thinkorswim. This can be handy to make your own tools to speed up and simplify your option trading. Here is the video on YouTube, followed by a copy of my finished spreadsheet for reference.

As mentioned, here is the Excel spreadsheet from the video:

The beginner strategy I am referring to in the video is explained in this three-part series. Though, if you are familiar with put credit spreads, you should be able to follow along fine.

Oliver, this was a great video and I appreciate it. I’m a 71 year old retiree who basically trades to keep my retirement funds ahead of inflation! Your RTD video really ‘inspired’ me and, using what I learned from you, I created a spreadsheet of my own to automate some calculations I was doing manually when looking at some covered call ideas. I’d love for you to see it and would welcome your comments on it. You can reach me at: gerry egan at for equipment leasing dot com (remove –ALL– spaces). I can email it or send you a share-link for my personal OneDrive.
